Good food, good price, nice owner! What more could you ask for?
This is a small place around the corner from Flatstick and Elm Street coffee. It's got a chill vibe. There are a few spaces to eat in or outside, but it's a classic grab and go spot. They've got solid vegetarian options of course. I got the baba ganoush sandwich and fries. Portions were good and it was tasty. -

Very unfortunate experience here at Main Street Gyros.
I came here for lunch with some friends, and I was excited to try Main Street Gyros because a former colleague had raved about this place. Plus, I love Mediterranean food! Located in Pioneer Square, it's a small building in the middle of the neighborhood. Space inside is small for dining inside with just two tables and some bar seating at the window.
I ordered the Arabic Beef Plate, which on the menu describes for all plates, comes with rice, hummus and pita. Since I had mine to-go I opened up my lunch when I was back at my desk and saw that it was a CHICKEN WRAP WITH FRIES. Not an Arabic Beef Plate. When they called my order at the eatery, they even exclaimed "Arabic Beef" for when it was ready. I was very disappointed to have spent money at Main Street Gyros, expecting a plate with rice, hummus and pita with ARABIC BEEF, to get something completely different. Unfortunately, I can't say I would make my way to come back here again after this big of an error. -

Delightful gyros can be found here, the fries are amazing as well. I'm quite fond of gyros and these guys are definitely up to par.
This would be a five star review, but they have to simplify their menu. It was actually confusing to find out how much my order was - a main street gyro plate said something like $9 but the order ended up being $12 (menu said it included fries, but the cashier said "would you like fries with that" and added a $3 surcharge when I said yes).
Other than that, fries were fantastic on texture and flavor, the main street gyro plate was uniquely appetizing in appearance, ingredients and flavor. Not a thing I would change on that front.
The food is well worth the price, even at $12, so they shouldn't feel ashamed about quoting that higher price.
If they're in town, you better chow down. -

If it wasn't for RITUAL Eat For $1 promotion, I never would've known this place. Now I know, and will most likely be back when a random lamb gyro salad & rice hankering come strolling by...
Pros
- Fast service. Ready in 5 minutes once ordered.
- Friendly service. The owner (I think) seem nice and respectful :)
- Delicious well seasoned foods, full bodied flavors, meaty, rich, heavy, greasy- terrible for health, but DELICIOUS
- Big portions, esp the salads
- Saves on wasteful utensils. Doesn't pack them unless request. This is a plus! I don't have to unpack at the register (like I usually would) to give back utensils I don't need. I already have my own!
Cons
- The plastics, oh Lordy, the plastics! Take out order full of plastic bags, plastic containers, plastics lids, and aluminum foil. I politely gave them back the plastic bags I did not need. Normally I bring my own container but not this time due to timing :( -

So fantastic! Here's why-
The food, first of all, is delicious and made fresh to order, always quality with the right spices & garnishes and in heaping portions. There are other gyro shops in the downtown area, but none compare in value to me.
Service is fast, service is personable and nice always.
I love that they have a selection of sauces in the dining area - chili sauce and garlic sauce on hand that you don't have to ask for, and complimentary soup while you wait.
Don't miss the free soup- it's my favorite thing about eating here :) a big pot with a rich, salty lentil soup to be enjoyed from styrofoam cups.
This gem is in the hustle and bustle of a crazy area of pioneer square, it's the cute hut/house, tiny inside, on the corner of Main Street.
